As a part of the Conversational AI team, you will help us build Genesys’ core AI capabilities including Speech Understanding, Natural Language Understanding and processing, chatbots, voicebots, knowledge surfacing, etc., to power the next generation of Genesys products.

About Role
- We are looking for a computational linguist to help with all the “language data”-related aspects of researching, building, and testing next-generation Conversational AI platforms and products.
- In this role you will:
- Produce high-quality language datasets and annotations. Sample project areas may include: chatbot training utterances and test cases, anonymization review, topic or entity labeling, sentiment analysis, and other projects as driven by team priorities.
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of linguists and engineers on defining and executing data creation and annotation tasks.
- Analyze data benchmarking results, characterize error types, and produce actionable conclusions tied back to the initial problem statement
- Work as a part of the linguistics team that contributes to the design and development of new Conversational AI features and products. We design and execute appropriate research methods for given problem statements, build tooling to enable quality evaluation of AI models and data, and provide assessments of linguistic and UX considerations in new features/products.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience with language data creation, annotation, and analysis
- Able to produce fast and accurate annotation or relevant original data (Speed AND Accuracy!)
- Clear ability to determine relevant linguistic factors pertinent to a given project's goals
- Experience with text data manipulation tools and scripting
- Experience with data analysis and characterization, both quantitative and qualitative
- BA/BS in linguistics, human-computer interaction, data science, CS, or related field
- Native or bilingual-level proficiency in English
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of any of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German
- Experience building and conducting QA for chatbots or other Conversational AI end-user applications
- Experience in areas such as: User Experience, Data Management, Research Methods and/or Project Scoping, Software Development
