Machine Learning Intern, Natural Language Processing
SoundHound builds Voice AI products with conversational intelligence that’s more human. We support over two dozen languages and voice-enable everything from cars, devices, services, and apps, allowing our customers to extend their brand in new and meaningful ways. This internship is a unique opportunity for computer science students to experience working on a product-driven machine learning team.
You will be working on developing both statistical and neural language models using state of the art techniques, which are critical to the success of SoundHound’s VoiceAI product offerings. You will also be developing statistical and analytical frameworks for analyzing training data. You will also have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge large language models such as GPT-3 for a myriad of applications including synthetic data generation and fine tuning for specific tasks. Other potential projects include end-to-end ASR and training of the LM component of these systems.
The SoundHound culture is highly collaborative and supportive. You will be working with some of the top visionaries and voice AI practitioners in the world on highly innovative products.
You will have the opportunity to solve ambiguous problems in optimizing language models at scale.
We are looking for a summer 2023 intern with experience in natural language processing (NLP) and automatic speech recognition (ASR) who is excited about solving problems in voice AI.
In this internship, you will:
- Contribute to cutting-edge neural and statistical language models used in voice AI
- Work with ambiguous problems that require out-of-the-box thinking to solve
- Work on Machine Learning and AI projects in natural language processing and language modeling, which will be assigned with well-defined success criteria and time bounds.
- Have an opportunity to receive a return offer for full-time employment
We would love to hear from you if:
- You are currently attending a Masters/PhD degree program and available to work full time for a minimum of 12 weeks outside of university term time
- You love solving problems that are ambiguous
- You love optimization problems in high dimensional spaces
- Your coding, algorithms, and statistical skills can be used in an industry setting
- You have machine learning experience in NLP and ASR
- You have Python fluency (knowledge and experience with Python ML frameworks)
- You are excited about a career solving voice AI problems
We’d be especially excited if you have a strong background in statistics as applied to ML and you enjoy analyzing data as it impacts ML model performance.
