Senior Architect - Machine Learning

The Role

As a Senior Architect in our modelling team, you will be leading on and developing innovative machine learning techniques to advance the research agenda of the team.

You’ll also work closely with team leads helping them to prioritise and streamline the technical work of their teams as well as mentoring engineers and reviewing code to minimise technical debt.

You’ll also collaborate closely with product management and the engineering leadership helping to define the technology roadmap.

What you'll be doing:

• Driving proof of concept and implementing prototypes to prove out architectures
• Possessing the ability to own and pursue a research agenda, including choosing impactful research problems and autonomously carrying out long-running projects
• Supporting the teams in building out a good machine learning architecture 
• Establishing the roadmap to implement new technology and modernize existing systems
• Assessing technology solutions in the market and articulating cost-benefit analysis; Make Build vs Buy recommendations to senior leadership
• Ensuring quality in the execution of the roadmap

Who we are looking for:

• You have a degree in computer science or related fields with 6+ years of relevant experience
• You have extensive experience in Python and a machine learning framework such as Pytorch, and if not known a desire to learn C++
• You have demonstrable research experience
• You have experience bringing to market positive research results that might involve large scale changes to the product
• You have a solid working knowledge of machine learning, with depth in ASR or natural language processing
• You have proven expertise in design, implementation and configuration of state of the art machine learning commercial solutions
• You are an inspirational technical leader with excellent communication skills
• You are ambitious and thrive in a fast moving environment
