SpeechBrain — Call for Interns at Mila March 2022
We are looking for new interns working on conversational AI at the Mila Québec AI Institute. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we seek collaborators that will contribute to the SpeechBrain project (speechbrain.github.io) in the following research areas:
- Small-footprint speech recognition
- Multi-language speech recognition
- Dialogue systems
- Speaker verification and diarization
- Speech synthesis
The ideal candidate is a graduate student (e.g. Ph.D. student) with proven experience in speech processing (e.g., with a record of accepted publications). The candidate needs excellent coding skills and hands-on experience in machine learning and deep learning. Experience with PyTorch is required. Experience with SpeechBrain is welcome. The internship will be done at the Mila Québec AI Institute and will last up to 4 months (with a flexible starting date). The intern will be supervised by Prof. Mirco Ravanelli.
About SpeechBrain
We want to make Conversational AI accessible to everyone. SpeechBrain is an open-source all-in-one Conversational AI toolkit designed to speed up the research and development of audio, speech, and language technologies. It currently supports several tasks based on state-of-the-art deep learning techniques (e.g., speech recognition, translation, spoken language understanding, speaker recognition, speech enhancement, and many others). SpeechBrain is released with 36 pre-trained models on HuggingFace shared with the community.
Thanks to the tutorials and rich documentation, it can be used for educational purposes. The project got 3.8k stars on GitHub in less than 12 months with more than 82 contributors.
