You will be joining one of Workday’s most exciting organizations, the Experience Design and Development Group (EDDG). As a cross-functional organization of 500 individuals, EDDG is responsible for elevating Workday’s User Experience, and delivering products that more than 45 million users love. About the Role

As a Sr. Conversational Voice Designer on the Employee Experience Technology (EXT) team you are organized, care about the details, and have a strong intellectual curiosity. You strive to transform complex tasks into delightful and effortless experiences for our users across Workday Assistant, Search and Workday Everywhere products rapidly growing the horizontal Workspace Platforms. You understand that achieving ground-breaking design is a team effort and requires collaboration with cross functional partners working closely with designers, researchers, product managers and engineers inside our team as well as with partner teams.

You desire to show work early and often because you believe showing is more important than telling. From initial concept through to launch, you will be a design owner and leader, responsible for delivering transformative concepts, and using data and customer insights to iterate and improve the end-to-end experience of deliverables such as user interface designs for voice and screen, interaction models, design specs, and prototypes. The ideal candidate will have experience with early-stage development, and be passionate about innovation on the behalf of user needs across modalities on existing and emerging platforms to envision the future of work.

  • Experience with speech and language technologies, e.g. voice user interfaces (VUI), speech recognition (ASR), language understanding (grammars or NLU), text to speech (TTS)
  • Expert knowledge in user experience fundamentals: wireframes, mockups, prototyping
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment
  • Ability to explore several design solutions, prototype and iterate based on quantitative/qualitative customer research and experimentation
  • Ability to lead design conversations, find opportunities, present, and gracefully defend your design decisions
  • Demonstrate success in communicating and collaborating across a variety of partners, including researchers, product managers, engineers
  • Familiarity with and experience working within Agile development methodology a plus
  • Passion for and willingness to dive into and understand Machine Learning and the Future of Work is a plus
  • You are willing to bring your whole self to work and find ways to have fun

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience creating voice Design Flows, Dialogue Design, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate your design concepts

  • A portfolio of design work/case studies demonstrating your principles, methodologies, and approach

Other Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge in user experience fundamentals: wireframes, mockups, prototyping

  • Ability to explore several design solutions, prototype and iterate based on quantitative/qualitative customer research and experimentation

  • Ability to lead design conversations and identify opportunities to help our users succeed

  • Demonstrate success in communicating and collaborating across a variety of stakeholders and partners, including researchers, product managers, engineers

  • You have experiences with building and maintaining a design system

  • Familiarity with and experience working within Agile development methodology a plus

  • Passion for and willingness to dive into Machine Learning and Future of Work is a plus

  • You are willing to bring your whole self to work and find ways to have fun
